Ageing is one of those things that everybody wants to avoid, sadly it’s an inevitable truth. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t do anything to prevent the occurrence of ageing spots. Moreover, considering a  facelift isn’t the most appealing option and is often accompanied with painful treatments. Taking care of yourself, indulging in physical exercise, having a balanced diet, and saying no to alcohol and cigarettes (as well as other dirty habits) are a few ways to maintain a youthful appearance, naturally.
Here are a few signs of ageing and how you can stop them-

Age Spots Usually caused by the sun’s harmful rays, these spots are a dead giveaway of your age. However, if you feel that you don’t need to worry about them until later in life, think again. There are a number of products available in the market that can help in fading the spots, but they often take months and results are not always satisfactory. Prevention is always better than cure. Applying sunscreen on a daily basis is the best way to keep those spots at bay.

Saggy Jowls– Combined effect of gravity and a marked deterioration in collagen (the skin’s natural scaffolding) is the most common cause of jowls. “Once you start losing your teeth, the surrounding bone shrinks and with no substructure to hold things in place skin will start to sag and look wrinkly,” warns Dr Uchenna Okoye, clinical director of the London Smiling Dental Group. Invest in an electric toothbrush that features a special ‘massage’ setting to ensure optimal gum health.

Wrinkles Men’s skin tends to age at a slower rate when compared to women, due to its thickness and increased collagen content. However, once a man hits his forties, the ageing signs can be a lot more noticeable. Sun, cigarette smoking and stress has been considered to be the biggest enemies when it comes to skin ageing, but sugar intake can also make your skin lose its elasticity and plumpness. According to nutritionist Dr Marilyn Glenville, author of Natural Alternatives to Sugar, “cutting back on the sweet stuff is key to minimising fine lines and wrinkles.”

Grey Hair– According to a survey, “men fear going grey even more than they fear baldness or being overweight.”  Dyeing hair might seem like the obvious remedy, although for men it’s fraught with difficulty. An expert hairdresser says that if you are hiding grey hair using dye, don’t apply it to the whole head as it can leave you to look more aged. The better approach is to take a comb and subtly blend the colour into areas of the hair that appear grey as it will give a natural look.
Keeping these above points mentioned above in mind will help you fight the signs of ageing the natural way and maintain a youthful and charming appearance.
