After that amazing smile, your eyebrows are one of the first things people notice. Unkempt brows are unappealing and can be wildly distracting when up close.

MAC Cosmetics’ Director of Makeup Artistry, Romero Jennings, said it best- “Brows are really personal. Brows really give you expression. Brows can make you look strong or weak or powerful or not. A brow will give you approachability. If it’s too strong or severe, someone will pass you by.”

The first simple rule to eyebrow grooming is that they shouldn’t touch in the middle. After that, just follow this simple grooming guide to brow glory-

Trimming
Just because you want to keep your eyebrows rough and masculine, doesn’t mean that you want them going totally rogue. Eyebrow trimmers exist and are a smart investment for easy brow grooming. To trim, first brush your brows straight up using a brow comb or old toothbrush. Then trim the excess length that extends beyond your natural brow line. Cut carefully, one millimetre at a time. Using this technique will make sure it’s done the right way and you still have brows at the end of it all.

Plucking
One of the easiest options is plucking. It means taking a pair of tweezers and plucking out the that doesn’t fit your desired look. Though plucking can be painful, it has the advantage of being super simple. To get the best results, give your eyebrows a quick dab with a liquid skin toner, then stroke them both lightly from the outside toward the centre, so that the hair stands up.

Waxing
Yes, eyebrow waxing kits do exist. But you might want to leave the waxing to the professionals unless you are very confident in your ability to self-apply hot wax in straight, smooth lines. Unlike plucking, this method is quick and definitely the best  option for men who need to clear a lot of skin, either at the centre of their brow or at the edges. Depending on your skin type and hair growth, waxing usually lasts anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months.

Threading
A surprisingly simple method for removing the hair that is predates many others. Eyebrow threading relies on a small, twisted thread that pulls hair out in a straight, smooth line. A professional can thread your eyebrows without much discomfort. The method is cheaper and less painful than waxing, and allows for a precise shaping.

Choose the method you are most comfortable with and make it a part of your grooming routine for the perfect brows.
