Bruce Willis, John Malkovich and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. What do they all have in common? Yes, they are successful, famous film stars, but they all rock bald heads with style! Many men are naturally bald due to the kindness of Mother Nature, but others shave their tresses off to achieve this hot look and avoid the dreaded comb over. An electric shaver is ideal for getting a smooth finish, so here are some quick tips to help you along.
Choose the Cut
Decide the length you want and choose the appropriate guide comb. A guide comb is a plastic comb that you attach to the clipper. Each guide comb is numbered and the smaller the number, the closer the cut. If you use just the clippers with no guide comb’s attached, you will end up with a close cut resembling a 5 o’clock shadow. The typical “buzz” cut is usually done with a #1 or #2 guard.
Prepare Your Head
You’ll get much better results from an electric shaver if your head stubble has been softened and your skin protected with a lubricant. To give your skin the best chance against harsh shavers use a shaving oil such has Face Guard. Face Guard carefully cleanses your skin & softens the head hair to prepare it for shaving. It then creates a barrier, lubricating your skin & protecting it to allow closer contact from the shaver, while active ingredients work to penetrate & moisturise, leaving your skin feeling ultra smooth.
Mirrors
You need to see the back of your head as you shave so you don’t miss any spots. Get a hand-held mirror while you stand in front of another mirror so you can see your entire head.
Tricky Areas
There are lots of tricky areas to navigate around when shaving your head. Be careful around your ears, sideburns and cowlicks. Use the ear taper combs which allow you to trim around your ears easily. An effective way to trim cowlicks is to run the trimmer over the area in every possible direction.
Edges
Don’t forget to trim the hairline at the back of your head and neckline for a polished finish. A pair of mirrors at this point can make the job much easier.
Clean Up
Once you’re all done, be sure to clean and lubricate your shaver or clippers before putting it away. You should use a cleaning product on your shaver or clippers regularly such as Shaver Guard. Not only will it help to deliver a better shave, it will prolong the product life too. Shaver Guard blasts away all of the unwanted hair left hanging around after a shave or trim. Its anti-bacterial properties then work hard to break down stubborn skin oils or left over pre-shave products, to leave your shaver & clippers completely clean & fresh every time you shave.
