Growing a moustache is de rigueur again and it can make you look more distinguished. Whether you sport a Tom Selleck or have a more modern take on this facial adornment, you must keep it groomed. Here are some easy steps to follow:

Get ready to trim your moustache
The best way to trim a moustache is to use an electric shaver. You will also need a small pair of scissors, a moustache comb and mirror.

Patience!
Before you begin to trim a moustache, you must grow one first! This should only take a couple of days but allowing your facial hair to grow to a certain length will help you in shaping and styling your moustache.

Soften your moustache with water and shaving oil
Once the moustache hair has grown to a sufficient length, it is time to trim it. Moustache hair can be coarse, so you need to soften it first with water and shaving oil.  We recommend using Face Guard. With its scientifically formulated 3-in-1 Tri-tech anti rash system, Face Guard replaces old style shaving creams, expensive moisturisers & after-shave balms in just one easy application.
Face Guard carefully cleanses your skin & softens the facial hair to prepare it for shaving. It then creates a barrier, lubricating your skin & protecting it to allow closer contact from the shaver, while active ingredients work to penetrate & moisturise, leaving your skin feeling ultra smooth.

Trim the corners
Once the facial hair is softened and dry, trim the outside corners of the moustache with a pair of sharp scissors. Make sure that you trim the corners at an angle so that your moustache looks well-groomed and appealing. If the outside edges of the moustache hang below your upper lip line, then carefully cut excess hair with the scissors.

Shape and trim your moustache
Brush your moustache with a fine toothed comb, and then select a guard on your shaver. Most clippers come with several snap-on plastic guards. The guards ensure an even trim at the length you want so you don’t accidentally cut your moustache too short.
Turn the trimmer on and gently, but firmly trim your moustache, working along the grain using long smooth strokes.  If necessary, remove bulk from the body of your moustache.

Style your moustache
To make sure that the moustache is symmetrical, trim from the middle of the moustache toward one side. Once you have finished trimming one side, start from the other side towards the center, and then from the other side back to the middle. This way it’s much easier to maintain balance and symmetry of your moustache.

Groom your moustache once or twice a week to maintain its shape
